FAQs

Who Can Rent

1. Getting Started & Eligibility

TMO Car Rentals serves eligible delivery, courier, and rideshare drivers, traveling medical and business professionals, and individuals who need dependable everyday transportation.

To rent a vehicle, you must satisfy our identity-verification, driving, payment, and other applicable rental requirements.

The minimum age for renting a vehicle from TMO Car Rentals is 25. Additional age requirements may apply depending on the vehicle, intended use, or applicable platform requirements.

No. TMO Car Rentals does not require a traditional credit check. We review your identity, driver’s license, driving eligibility, payment method, and ability to satisfy the applicable rental and security-deposit requirements.

Certain vehicles may be used with eligible rideshare, delivery, and courier platforms, including Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Uber Eats, Walmart Spark, and Amazon Flex.

Each renter and vehicle must satisfy the applicable platform’s requirements. TMO Car Rentals cannot guarantee that a renter or vehicle will be accepted or activated by a particular platform.

Yes. Depending on the selected vehicle, you may use a TMO rental with multiple eligible delivery, courier, or rideshare platforms.

You must satisfy each platform’s driver and vehicle requirements, and all vehicle use must comply with your TMO Car Rentals rental agreement.

No. Renting a vehicle from TMO Car Rentals does not guarantee acceptance or activation by Uber, Lyft, or another platform.

Each platform establishes its own driver eligibility, background-check, documentation, insurance, inspection, and vehicle requirements. We recommend confirming the platform’s current requirements before selecting a rental vehicle.

How to Request a Rental

2. Rental Requests & Review

When completing the Rental Request Form, you may be asked to provide:

  • A valid driver’s license
  • Proof of your current residential address
  • A valid electronic payment method
  • Additional identity-verification documents
  • A rideshare, delivery, courier, or gig-platform profile screenshot, when applicable
  • Any additional documentation reasonably required for the selected vehicle or intended use

All submitted documents must be current, complete, and clearly readable.

Once we receive your completed form, our team will review your rental needs, eligibility, intended vehicle use, documentation, and vehicle availability. We will then contact you regarding the next steps.

[Request A Rental]

Most completed rental requests are initially reviewed within one to two business days. The review may take longer if information or supporting documents are missing or additional verification is required.

Submitting a Rental Request Form does not guarantee or reserve a vehicle.

No. Submitting a Rental Request Form does not reserve or guarantee a vehicle.

A vehicle is secured only after:

  • A suitable vehicle has been identified
  • The rental agreement has been signed
  • The $250 refundable security deposit has been paid
  • The first rental payment and any other required amounts have cleared
  • TMO Car Rentals has sent a reservation confirmation

You may request a specific available vehicle when completing the Rental Request Form. However, vehicle selection remains subject to availability, your intended use, applicable rental requirements, and any relevant platform requirements.

A particular vehicle is not guaranteed until all required documents and payments have been received, the rental agreement has been signed, and TMO Car Rentals has sent a reservation confirmation.

Rates and Payments

3. Rental Terms, Rates & Payments

Yes. TMO Car Rentals offers flexible weekly and monthly rental options. Rates and availability vary by vehicle and rental arrangement.

Visit our Vehicles page for current availability and rental-rate information.

TMO Car Rentals accepts designated electronic payment methods, including Zelle and major debit and credit cards.

The payment method must belong to the renter or another payer accepted by TMO Car Rentals. Additional payment verification may be required before the vehicle is released.

All required payments must be made electronically and successfully clear before the scheduled pickup appointment. Payments will not be accepted at the pickup location.

Please contact us before submitting your Rental Request Form if you have questions about an accepted payment method.

Yes. A $250 refundable security deposit is required to secure a vehicle.

The security deposit may be applied to unpaid rental charges, fuel shortages, excessive cleaning, damage, missing property, tolls, parking citations, or other amounts permitted under the rental agreement.

After the vehicle is returned, TMO Car Rentals will review the rental account and vehicle condition. Any permitted deductions will be itemized, and the remaining refundable balance will be returned according to the timeframe stated in the rental agreement.

Your refundable security deposit, first rental payment, and any other amount due at the beginning of the rental must be paid electronically and successfully clear before the vehicle is released.

Weekly rental payments are generally due on the same day each week. Monthly rental payments are due on the date specified in the rental agreement.

We will confirm the total amount due, recurring payment schedule, and future payment dates before your rental begins.

Rental payments must be received by the due date stated in your rental agreement.

A late payment may result in a late fee, termination of the rental agreement, loss of extension eligibility, or other action permitted under the agreement.

If you believe your payment will be late, contact TMO Car Rentals immediately. Contacting us does not automatically change the payment due date or waive any applicable fee or rental-agreement requirement.

An extension may be available, but it must be requested and confirmed by TMO Car Rentals before your scheduled return date.

Whether an extension can be granted depends on vehicle availability, your payment history, account status, and continued compliance with the rental agreement.

Your rental period is not extended until TMO Car Rentals provides confirmation and all required payments and documents have been received.

Additional charges may apply depending on the rental and how the vehicle is used. These may include late-payment fees, late-return fees, tolls and related administrative charges, parking or traffic citations, fuel charges, excessive cleaning charges, smoking charges, unauthorized-driver or prohibited-use charges, vehicle damage or missing property charges, other charges described in the rental agreement.

The $250 refundable security deposit is not an additional fee. However, permitted charges may be deducted from the deposit as explained in the rental agreement.

All standard rental charges and applicable fees will be disclosed for your review before you sign the rental agreement.

Using Your Rental

4. Vehicle Use, Drivers & Mileage

Many TMO rental plans include unlimited mileage, making them suitable for everyday transportation, longer-term use, and permitted gig work within TMO Car Rentals’ service area.

Unlimited mileage does not authorize travel outside the service area. Any mileage limitations, geographic restrictions, or other conditions applicable to your rental will be stated in the rental agreement before you sign.

Only the renter and any additional drivers specifically authorized and listed in the rental agreement may operate the vehicle.

An additional driver must provide a valid driver’s license, satisfy TMO Car Rentals’ eligibility requirements, and complete any required identity and driving-record verification before being added to the agreement.

Allowing an unauthorized person to operate the vehicle is prohibited and may result in additional charges or termination of the rental agreement.

Yes. Depending on the vehicle and rental arrangement, a TMO rental may be used for everyday personal transportation and permitted delivery, courier, or rideshare work.

This gives eligible renters the flexibility to use one vehicle for personal transportation and income-producing activities. All use must comply with the rental agreement, insurance provisions, geographic restrictions, and the requirements of any platform you use.

No. TMO rental vehicles must remain within TMO Car Rentals’ designated South Florida service area throughout the rental period. Travel outside the service area—including travel outside Florida—is not permitted.

TMO’s service area currently includes:

  • Palm Beach County
  • Broward County
  • Miami-Dade County
  • Martin County
  • St. Lucie County

Taking the vehicle outside the permitted service area violates the rental agreement and may result in additional charges, termination of the rental, or other action permitted under the agreement.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted in any TMO rental vehicle.

Pets may be permitted only with advance written permission from TMO Car Rentals. Pets must be transported safely, and the vehicle must be kept clean and free of damage, stains, odors, and excessive pet hair.

Additional cleaning or damage charges may apply if the vehicle is returned in an unacceptable condition.

Additional charges may apply if a vehicle is returned after the scheduled time, damaged, or in a condition requiring cleaning beyond normal use.

Renters must promptly report accidents, damage, warning lights, or mechanical concerns and remain responsible for applicable charges under the rental agreement.

The vehicle’s mileage, fuel level, cleanliness, and overall condition will be documented at pickup and return.

Yes. Prohibited activities and uses include:

  • Allowing an unauthorized driver to operate the vehicle
  • Reckless, illegal, or impaired driving
  • Racing or speed testing
  • Towing or pushing another vehicle
  • Off-road use
  • Transporting illegal substances or hazardous materials
  • Taking the vehicle outside TMO Car Rentals’ designated service area
  • Smoking or vaping in the vehicle
  • Using the vehicle for commercial activity that was not disclosed and permitted under the rental agreement
  • Using the vehicle in any manner prohibited by the rental agreement or applicable insurance policy

The complete list of prohibited activities and vehicle-use restrictions will be provided in the rental agreement.

Protection and Responsibility

5. Insurance & Renter Responsibilities

Yes. TMO Car Rentals maintains insurance on its vehicles. However, renters should not assume that this insurance covers their personal liability or financial obligations during a rental.

Renters may remain financially responsible for damage to the rental vehicle and other losses or charges permitted by the rental agreement and applicable law.

For your own financial protection, renters are strongly encouraged to have qualifying automobile or non-owner insurance in place before the rental period begins. You may wish to use your existing automobile insurance or obtain an appropriate non-owner policy, subject to coverage verification and acceptance by TMO Car Rentals.

Depending on the policy, this may help cover your liability for injuries or damage to others if you cause an accident. However, having insurance does not mean every loss or financial obligation is covered.

Protection for the Rental Vehicle

Non-owner insurance generally does not cover damage to the vehicle you are renting. If you want protection against responsibility for damage to the rental vehicle, ask your insurer about coverage specifically for that risk.

Depending on your policy’s terms and exclusions, coverage may also exclude personal belongings, deductibles, or other losses. You may remain financially responsible for damage to the rental vehicle, applicable deductibles, excluded losses, and other charges permitted by the rental agreement and applicable law.

Confirm Your Coverage Before Renting

Before purchasing or relying on a policy, confirm with your insurer or a licensed insurance agent that it applies to:

  • Your operation of the rental vehicle

  • The full rental period

  • Your intended personal or business use

  • Delivery, courier, or rideshare activity, if applicable

  • Liability for injuries or damage to others if you cause an accident

  • Damage to the rental vehicle, if that protection is desired

Personal automobile and non-owner policies may exclude delivery, courier, rideshare, or other business activity. TMO’s review or acceptance does not change your policy’s terms or guarantee that your insurer will cover a claim.

Contact TMO Car Rentals with questions about submitting insurance documents for review. Questions about purchasing insurance or what a policy covers should be directed to your insurer or a licensed insurance agent.

We will request your current insurance declarations pages and any additional documentation before finalizing your rental. You may upload available insurance documents with your Rental Request.

Your declarations pages should show your name, insurance company, policy number, effective dates, and coverage information. An insurance identification card alone may not provide enough information to verify coverage.

TMO’s review or acceptance does not change your policy’s terms or guarantee that your insurer will cover a claim.

Each platform has its own insurance and vehicle approval requirements. Renters are responsible for confirming and meeting those requirements. Acceptance of a policy by TMO Car Rentals does not guarantee platform approval.

Contact TMO Car Rentals with questions about the insurance maintained on our vehicles, general renter insurance questions, or submitting insurance documents for review. We’re happy to provide general guidance and explain the next steps.

Questions about purchasing insurance or confirming what your specific policy covers should be directed to your insurer or a licensed insurance agent.

The renter is responsible for all tolls, traffic citations, parking violations, towing charges, impound fees, and related administrative costs incurred during the rental period.

If TMO Car Rentals receives or pays a charge associated with your rental, the amount and any applicable administrative fee may be deducted from your refundable security deposit or charged to your payment method on file, as permitted by the rental agreement.

The renter remains responsible for rental-related charges received after the vehicle has been returned and the security deposit has been refunded.

The renter is responsible for loss of or damage to the rental vehicle during the rental period, except to the extent payment is received from an applicable insurance provider or responsible third party, as provided in the rental agreement.

The commercial liability insurance included with the rental does not provide collision or comprehensive coverage for damage to the rental vehicle caused by the renter. If the renter causes an accident or no responsible third party or applicable insurance coverage pays for the damage, the renter may be financially responsible for repairing or replacing the vehicle.

Renters must immediately report all accidents, theft, vandalism, and vehicle damage to TMO Car Rentals. The renter may also be responsible for towing, storage, loss-of-use charges, deductibles, administrative expenses, and other amounts permitted under the rental agreement.

Move to a safe location when possible and call 911 if anyone is injured or the accident scene is unsafe.

Notify law enforcement, exchange information with the other driver, obtain witness information when available, and take photographs or videos of the vehicles, damage, license plates, insurance documents, and accident scene.

Do not admit fault, promise payment, or enter into a private payment arrangement with the other driver. Contact TMO Car Rentals immediately and follow all accident-reporting instructions.

Only the renter and drivers specifically authorized and listed in the rental agreement may operate the vehicle.

Allowing an unauthorized person to drive is a serious violation of the rental agreement and may result in termination of the rental, recovery of the vehicle, and additional charges. Insurance coverage may be limited, denied, or unavailable, and the renter may be held financially responsible for all resulting damage, losses, claims, and expenses.

While You're On The Road

6. Pickup, Maintenance & Emergencies

After you have completed all rental requirements, TMO Car Rentals will provide a confirmed pickup location and appointment time.

Vehicle pickup is by appointment only. Please do not travel to the pickup location until TMO Car Rentals confirms that the vehicle is ready.

Vehicle pickup is generally required. Delivery may be available within select parts of TMO Car Rentals’ service area by advance arrangement and may require an additional fee.

Delivery availability, location, and pricing must be confirmed before your rental begins.

Bring your original, valid driver’s license so we can verify your identity and confirm that the information matches your rental records.

All required documents, signed agreements, electronic payments, and insurance information, when applicable, must be received and confirmed before your pickup appointment. Payments will not be accepted at the pickup location.

TMO Car Rentals will notify you in advance if you need to bring anything else.

TMO Car Rentals is responsible for routine maintenance and mechanical repairs resulting from normal vehicle use.

Renters are responsible for operating the vehicle properly, monitoring fuel and warning indicators, and promptly reporting maintenance or mechanical concerns.

Do not arrange repairs, replace parts, or authorize work on the vehicle without advance authorization from TMO Car Rentals, except when immediate action is required to protect someone’s safety.

Move to a safe location and contact TMO Car Rentals as soon as a warning light or unusual vehicle condition appears. Provide a photograph of the dashboard warning and describe any unusual sounds, odors, leaks, or changes in performance.

If the oil-pressure, temperature, brake, or another critical warning light appears—or the vehicle is smoking, overheating, losing power, making a severe noise, or otherwise appears unsafe—stop driving immediately and wait for further instructions.

Move to a safe location when possible and call 911 if anyone is injured or there is an immediate danger.

After an accident:

  • Notify law enforcement
  • Exchange information with the other driver
  • Obtain witness information when available
  • Take photographs or videos of the vehicles, damage, license plates, insurance documents, and accident scene
  • Do not admit fault or enter into a private payment arrangement
  • Contact TMO Car Rentals immediately

Follow the accident and emergency instructions provided with your rental. Do not abandon the vehicle or independently authorize towing or repairs without authorization from TMO Car Rentals, unless law enforcement or emergency personnel require immediate action.

TMO Car Rentals will review the circumstances and help determine the next available option.

A replacement vehicle may be offered when appropriate, but replacements depend on vehicle availability, continued satisfaction of rental requirements, the circumstances that caused the vehicle to become unavailable, and compliance with the rental agreement.

A replacement vehicle is not guaranteed, and additional terms or charges may apply.

Changes and Cancellations

7. Reservations, Cancellations & Refunds

Your vehicle reservation is confirmed only after:

  • A suitable vehicle has been identified
  • You have signed the rental agreement
  • TMO Car Rentals has received the $250 refundable security deposit
  • TMO Car Rentals has sent you a written reservation confirmation

Submitting a Rental Request Form or requesting a particular vehicle does not reserve or guarantee that vehicle.

The first rental payment and any other amount due must be paid electronically and successfully clear before your scheduled pickup appointment.

If you need to cancel your reservation, contact TMO Car Rentals as soon as possible and before your scheduled pickup time.

Any cancellation charge or refund eligibility will depend on when the reservation is cancelled, the payments already made, and the cancellation terms provided with your reservation and rental agreement.

Failure to cancel before the scheduled pickup time may result in the reservation being treated as a no-show. Any applicable cancellation charge or deduction will be disclosed before you sign the rental agreement.

Refund eligibility depends on the type of payment, the reason for the refund, and the terms of your reservation or rental agreement.

Any refund due may be reduced by applicable cancellation charges, unpaid rental payments, tolls, parking or traffic citations, vehicle damage, excessive-cleaning charges, or other amounts permitted under the rental agreement.

Refunds are generally returned to the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider or financial institution.

You may request a different pickup date, but all changes depend on vehicle availability and must be confirmed by TMO Car Rentals in advance.

A pickup-date change is not effective until you receive written confirmation from TMO Car Rentals. Changing the pickup date may affect the available vehicle, rental rate, payment schedule, or other reservation terms.

Contact TMO Car Rentals immediately if you will be late or cannot attend your scheduled pickup appointment.

If you do not arrive and TMO Car Rentals has not confirmed a different pickup time, your reservation may be treated as a no-show and cancelled. The vehicle may be released to another renter, and applicable cancellation charges or deductions may apply according to the reservation and rental-agreement terms.

Yes. TMO Car Rentals may cancel a reservation or terminate a rental agreement when permitted by its terms.

Reasons may include:

  • Nonpayment
  • False, incomplete, or unverifiable information
  • An unauthorized driver
  • Prohibited vehicle use
  • Insurance or licensing issues
  • Taking the vehicle outside TMO Car Rentals’ designated service area
  • Unsafe, illegal, or abusive conduct
  • Another material violation of the rental agreement

If a rental agreement is terminated early, the vehicle must be returned immediately as instructed. The renter remains responsible for all applicable charges, losses, and other obligations under the agreement.
